The National Monuments Service's description

In poor, rough pasture, planted with coniferous forestry, located adjacent to a small stream.
This holy well is named ‘Toberbannon’ on the 1838 and 1919 OS 6-inch maps. It is a small subcircular pool (Wth c. 1.7m; D 0.4-0.5m), which at the time of inspection held little water and was obscured by a dense growth of water cress. Stones can be felt beneath the overgrowth along the sides of the pool but it is unclear if they are the remains of an enclosing wall. A short channel connects the well with the stream at S.
