The National Monuments Service's description
This record was listed in the SMR (1991) and RMP (1997) as 'cairns'. These are field clearance cairns, dotted throughout a field system (MA072-127001-) of narrow rectangular and subrectangular fields. The cairns (max. dims. 3-5.5m; H 1.3-1.6m) are irregular in shape, varying from crescentic to subtriangular to subcircular in plan, and most likely date to the 19th century (pers. comm. R. Crumlish, 2017).
