The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, in a thicket of hazel and hawthorn. Views restricted now by hedgerows and overgrowth.
Shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as a circular embanked enclosure, and on the 1930 edition as a polygonal area incorporated into a system of field walls.
A roughly circular area (27.6m E–W; 25.6m N–S) is defined by a low stony rise/bank (Wth 2.6m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.15m, at E), best defined at N–E. The interior is level and is not noticeably raised, and at NE appears slightly sunken relative to exterior ground level. At NW–NE the stone bank is incorporated into a later field wall, and two other field walls traverse the interior at SE and W. According to local information, there is a cross inscribed stone at an enclosure (MA072-021001).
A rath (MA072-020----) and a cashel (MA072-022----) are located 100m to N and 230m to NE. There is a possible crannog (MA072-096----) 240m to W.
