The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture on the top of a gentle-sided but commanding ridge. A subcircular area (int. diams. 29m E-W; 26m N-S) is defined by an earthen bank (av. Wth 4m SW-W-NW to 8m NW-E-SW; int. H 0.25-1m; ext. H 1-1.4m). Traces of possible stone facing (H 0.95m) survive on the inner face of the enclosing bank at NW and N. The bank has livestock gaps at NNW (Wth 1.5m) and SSW (Wth 2m) and is reduced to an external scarp (H 1.2m) along the ESE. A rectangular haggard or garden (int. dims. 17m N-S; 5m E-W) enclosed by loose stone walling abuts the rath at ENE. This is partially recorded on the first edition (1837) of the OS 6-inch map where it is shown between the monument and a roofed house to the E. Two adjoining corn kilns partially built into the enclosing bank of the rath in the NE sector are also recorded on this OS map but are no longer visible.
