The National Monuments Service's description

Reported as the site of a possible horizontal-wheeled mill – an early type of water-powered mill in which the wheel turned by water rotates on a horizontal axis (SMR file). Recorded as a rectangular structure (L c. 10m E-W; Wth c. 6m N-S) labelled ‘Mill’ (with a nearby ‘Corn Kiln’ c. 15m to the E) on the first edition (1837) of the O.S. 6-inch map where it is shown straddling a long ‘Mill Race’ which flows N from Levallinree Lough to the SE to Derryhick Lough to the NE. However, the mill and kiln are not recorded on the later OS 25-inch map (1893).

Located in rough pasture c. 15m to the E of a small N-flowing stream in a narrow steep-sided valley. No visible surface trace survives and stone, possibly dredged from the nearby stream, partially covers the site. The available evidence suggests this was a corn mill dating to the late-18th/19th century.
