The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on a terrace on the N-facing slope of a ridge, providing good views NW−SE over a valley of lowlying grassland. It is overlooked to SW−S by the rising slope of the ridge, on the crest of which there is a rath (MA061-089001) c. 230m to S. There is another rath (MA062-087001-) c. 150m to W.
Circular area (34.7m N-S; 33m E-W) defined at SSE-NW by a sod-covered stone bank (Wth 2.3m at SE, 3.4m at SW; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 0.4m), which varies in height and width; at NW−N by a stony scarp (ext. H 1m) and at NNE-SE by a wall/field fence (Wth 1.2m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1m at N) that respects the curve of the enclosure. The interior has a very slight slope down from S to N.
Immediately to WSW of the enclosure, there is a slightly raised sub-rectangular or oblong area (c. 22m NE–SW; c. 8m NW–SE), which incorporates a number of large stones and boulders, and is defined on the N side by a low stony scarp (H 0.3m). Its significance is uncertain, but it may relate to a rectangular vernacular building shown abutting the S of the ringfort on the 1837 OS 6-inch map; remnants of a NW–SE field fence abutting the ringfort at S also appear to date to that period.
