The National Monuments Service's description
In Lough More, close to the SW shoreline. Recorded in 1992 during a survey undertaken by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit of archaeological monuments in and around the lake, this monument consists of a double row (L 4m NW−SE) of upright stakes (av. diam. 0.03m; H 0.5-0.7m) extending from the shore out into the lake. Willow is the predominate species but ash, hazel, birch and mountain ash were also used. The stakes were sharpened to pencil, chisel or wedge-shaped points. Remnants of red deer antler were found adjacent to the structure. (Jennings 1995, 201 (MA-CBF 0001)).
