In rough stony pasture, located on a low rise overlooking the E shoreline of Lough Brohly, which is c. 60m to W; good views generally over the surrounding undulating grassland. Not indicated on the 1838 OS 6-inch map, but shown on later editions.
Slightly raised circular area (28m N−S; 27.5m E−W) defined by a scarp which is topped by a stone bank/drystone wall (Wth 1.2m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1.3m, at S). The wall is built against the external face of the rath scarp, and forms a low tumbled stone bank on its inner rim, which is sod-covered in parts. Concentrations of small stones and large boulders along the top of the wall suggest that a lot of field clearance stones have been piled up around the circuit over time. In parts, discrete sections of the wall expand to 2-2.5m in width, where larger accumulations of field clearance stone have been heaped against its external face. Overall, the wall is similar in size and form to adjacent field walls, which abut and radiate from the rath at NE, E and SW. There is a narrow break (Wth 1m) in the wall at NNE, and a low broken down section at SW, but the location of the original entrance is uncertain. The rath interior appears to be slightly higher in the center and N. Grass and fern in the interior; blackthorn and brambles around the perimeter. There is another rath (MA040-067----) 130m to NE.
