The National Monuments Service's description
In lowlying pasture bordering the E shoreline of Lough Conn, which is 160m to W. Immediately to E of the enclosure there is an expanse of wet pasture. Indicated on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as a circular embanked ringfort-like enclosure (diam. c. 20m), with the bank at S coinciding with the townland boundary; on the 1930 edition the E side is bordered by a N−S field boundary.
Slightly raised roughly D-shaped or subrectangular area (c. 20-25m N–S; c. 18m E–W) defined in a shallow curve at S–NW by a low sod-covered wall (Wth 1m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.65m), which becomes a gently curving stone faced scarp (H 0.4m) at NNW–NE. The enclosure appears to have been truncated on the E and S sides, which are straight and defined by field fences. The interior, which appears to be level, is obscured by an impenetrable thicket of thorn bushes and brambles. Another enclosure (MA039-086----) is located c. 135m to SSW.
