The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, located on the top of an E–W ridge with panoramic views, especially extensive to S over an expanse of rolling grassland.
Raised circular area (20m E–W) defined by a scarp (H 1.8m; Wth ext. slope 5m, at W). The scarp, which incorporates much stone on its external face, is enhanced by and merges with the natural ridge slope, with an especially steep fall of ground NE–S. The contours of the ridge also give the interior a slightly domed profile on its E–W axis. There is a drop in interior ground level in the NE–E.
There is a low area in the scarp at SW, but the original entrance may have been at the NE, where a broad low section of scarp faces onto the level top of the ridge.
A property fence bisects the interior roughly centrally on an E–W axis. The base of the ridge slope immediately to SE of the rath has been steeply quarried out to facilitate the construction of a slatted shed and farm yard. There is an embanked enclosure (MA038-180----) 90m to W.
