The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, located on the E shoulder of a prominent rise on a roughly NW–SE ridge, which provides good views. At SW–W the ground falls away into a narrow valley of wet ground.
Raised, circular area (15m E–W; 14.8m N–S) defined by a low and eroded earthen bank (Wth 3.9m at NNW, 3.7m at SSE). The bank has a low, internal slope (int. H 0.3m at NNW, 0.2m at SSE) and is broadly slumped externally (ext. H 1.2m at NNW, 1.3m at SSE)), especially at W–N. The interior slopes down from NW towards the entrance gap (Wth 2m) at SE. A few large boulders are incorporated into the N terminal of the gap.
A sod-covered triangular mound of earth and stones, which projects 4-5m from the external face of the bank at N, appears to be the result of field clearance; a similar heap is appended to the bank at SW. This appears to be the remains of a rath, although it should be noted that its diameter is smaller than average.
