The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, located in a small, shallow E-W stream valley, at the base of a gentle S-facing slope. A canalised stream/drain lies immediately to S of the rath and serves as the S boundary of the townland. On the opposite side of the stream, ground rises in a slightly steeper slope. Views are relatively open E–W along the valley, but restricted by the rising ground to N and S.
Slightly raised, roughly circular area (21m E–W; 23m N–S) enclosed by a degraded earthen bank (Wth c. 3m at N, 3.6m at S; int. H c. 0.3m at N, 0.4m at S; ext. H 0.6m at N, 1.2m at S). The bank is fairly well defined on its external slope, especially on the S half, but it retains only a low internal lip, and in parts at ESE–SE and at W–NW is reduced to a low scarp. A band (Wth 2.5m) of rushes outside the bank at the NE arc may mark the line of an infilled fosse, but it cannot be traced around the complete circuit.
The interior is level. There is a slight circular depression (diam. c. 2m) just S of centre. The original entrance appears to have been at E where there is a gap (Wth 2m).
Grass cover, with a few hawthorn trees on the bank at S.
