The National Monuments Service's description

In the late 19th-century, Knowles (1889-91, 616) found human bones exposed in the sand dunes on the Ross peninsula. He recorded them as followings: "I found the greater part of a human skeleton lying across a hearth, but the skull was gone." The bones were located within the remains of a hut site, one of several (MA11-059002-) associated with a midden (MA015-059001-).
The exact location of the find was not recorded.
