The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, located on a low E-W ridge, with good views, especially W-NE. To S ground gradually falls to a narrow area of damp, lowlying ground, beyond which is a parallel but higher ridge.
Raised circular area (23.9m E-W; 26m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.5m at N, 4.6m at S; int. H 0.4m at N, 0.7m at S; ext. H 0.8m at N, 2.2m at S) with an external fosse evident at SSE-W. Stones protrude randomly from the top and external slope of the bank. At W stones protruding from the base of the bank suggest remnants of a kerb. The fosse at SSE-S is a barely discernible depression, but at SW-W there is a well defined flat-bottomed cut (Wth 2.7-3m; ext. D 1.3m), which ends at W in a rounded terminal. The rath has a pronounced external slope on the S arc, and appears to have been built up here to create a level interior and to compensate for a natural fall of ground. There are two narrow breaks in the bank -at the SE (Wth 0.5m) and at the W (Wth 0.8m) -both of which appear to have been eroded by farm stock. The original entrance may have been at the E, where the bank has been truncated by a N-S field wall. This wall flanks an old farm track that overlies the fosse.
