The National Monuments Service's description
In Dooncarton or Glengad townland, located in a narrow strip of coastal pasture, 400m S of a rocky shoreline bordering the SE side of Broad Haven Bay. A smaller sandy estuarine bay, Sruwaddacon Bay, which opens into the E side of Broad Haven Bay, is immediately NE, beyond which Benwee Head and Knockdaff are visible on the skyline. The good pastureland ends abruptly 80m to S where land rises to rough mountainous terrain.
Indicated on the 1912 OS 6-inch map as 'Stone circle'. Level circular area (diam. 4.85m) defined by seven irregularly-shaped upright boulders, ranging in size from H 0.62m; Wth 0.33m; T 0.1m to H 1.32m; Wth 0.35m; T 0.31m. An eighth stone, at NE, has fallen and is now largely grass-covered. A fallen rectangular block, possibly an outlier, lies c. 16m to NW. There is a court tomb (MA004-012----) 120m to W.
