The National Monuments Service's description
Formerly in pasture on slight S facing slope with excellent views from SE-SW. Now located in a clearance in centre of modern coniferous plantation. Remains consist of a raised subcircular-shaped flat-topped mound (dims. 2.2m N-S x 4.6m E-W; H 1.3m) defined by a scarp with partial traces of an external fosse (base Wth 3.25m; ext. D 0.35m) from N-E. Possible alteration to base of mound at S where stone facing or revetment of large rectangular slabs is visible. Stone revetment may be original feature of mound construction although this is uncertain. Large pile of stones to S of stone revetment. Grass-covered earthwork represents the remains of a collapsed lime-kiln that is depicted at this location on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map
