The National Monuments Service's description

In wet pasture immediately S of a watercourse. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map where as a roughly circular-shaped area defined by a scarp. It is shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a raised rectangular-shaped area (dims. c. 38m NE-SW; 36m NW-SE) defined by a scarp, intersected at SE by a field drain running NE-SW. Identified as a possible moated site on Bórd Gáis Éireann Curraleigh West-Limerick gas pipeline aerial photographs (Strip map 2, site 2/7) taken 03/11/1984. Visible as a rectangular cropmark on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimages.
