The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on poorly drained floodplains of the Graigue River which runs past the monument immediately to S. Area depicted as wet land, annotated ‘Liable to Floods’ on the 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map. Outline of circular shaped area (approx. int. diam. 20m; ext. diam. 50m) defined by a scarp with ditch, bank, ditch and external bank which is clearly visible on Digital Globe orthoimage taken 2011-13. Outline of monument clearly visible on 2005 OSi orthophoto and on Google Earth orthoimage taken 16/03/2016.
