The National Monuments Service's description

In reclaimed pasture, 30m S of a local road that marks the townland boundary with Raheennamadra. Possible barrow (LI049-241002-) lies 20m to the E. Not depicted on historic OSi maps. Identified as a possible ring barrow on Bórd Gáis Éireann Curraleigh West-Limerick gas pipeline aerial photographs (BGE 1/5000; 2578) taken 03/11/1984. Possible barrow listed as ‘Mitchelstowndown East 1’ by Grogan (1989, 239). No surface remains visible on Google Earth orthoimages.
