Megalithic structure

The National Monuments Service's description

In rough pasture, on the summit of Slievereagh, 200m NE of townland boundary with Moorestown. A possible megalithic structure (LI049-093002-) lies 8m to the WNW, possible robbed out cairn (LI049-095----) lies 150m to the SE. Not marked on 1840 ed. OSi map. Annotated ‘Cromlech’ on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map. The monument has been described by De Valera and Ó Nualláin (1982, 79) as follows: ‘The object marked “Cromlech” on the 1901 edition of the map stands near the rock-face. The photograph given by Lynch and Fogerty (1911, facing p. 15) show it to be a big block supported at one end by a number of small stones and resting on what seems to be rock outcrop at the opposite end. It appears to be largely natural’. No surface remains visible on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimages.
