In pasture, 140m S of townland boundary with Mitchellstowndown West, a group of barrows (LI049-225001/003-) lie 140m to the E. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map as a raised rectangular-shaped area defined by a scarp. Shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a raised rectangular-shaped platform (dims. c. 56m NW-SE x 45m NE-SW) defined by a scarp. Described by Westropp (1916, 22) as one of two straight-sided forts in Glenlara. Cropmark of levelled monument truncated at S by farm track visible on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13. Rectangular shaped cropmark of levlled earthwork visible on Google Earth orthoimages dated 28/06/2018 and 20/03/2018.
