The National Monuments Service's description
In reclaimed pasture, a group of monuments (LI049-027001/009-) lie to the NW. Not marked on the OSi 6-inch maps. Identified as a potential site (site TR/2/19/1) in 1986 on the Bórd Gáis Éireann Curraleigh West-Limerick gas pipeline (Gowen 1988, 110). Excavations by Claire Walsh (1987, 26) revealed a bronze age pit, the results of which were summarised as following; ‘This was an isolated pit, 1.56m x 1m and 50cm deep. The homogeneous, moderately charcoal-flecked fill contained the decayed fragments of a coarse, undecorated pot. No cremated bone was noted.’ No surface remains visible on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13 or on Google Earth orthoimages.
