The National Monuments Service's description

In reclaimed pasture 165m N of the townland boundary with Mitchelstowndown East. Ringfort (LI049-017----) lies 100m to N. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Identified as a partially levelled ringfort on Bórd Gáis Éireann Curraleigh West-Limerick gas pipeline aerial photographs (BGE 1/5000; Strip map 4, Site 4/6) taken 03/11/1984. Visible as a waterlogged circular-shaped area (diam. c. 28m) truncated at S by post-1700 field boundary running E-W on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13. Outline of earthwork visible on Google Earth orthoimage dated 13/08/2021. May be the remains of a pond rather than that of an archaeological monument. A spring well is depicted immediately to W on 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map.
