The National Monuments Service's description

The precise location of a cist burial discovered near Foley's Cross in 1849 has not been identified. Described by Waddell (1990, 111) as follows; ‘In the course of gravel digging near Foley’s Cross in 1849, workmen found at a depth of 2m great flat rock slabs of stone resting upon other stones. On opening this work, they found an urn, about the size of what we call a large flower pot, which might hold two quarts; it contained burnt bones and was destroyed. Two other urns were later found and not preserved.’
