The National Monuments Service's description
In reclaimed pasture, 180m S of townland boundary with Ballinvreena. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map as a raised circular-shaped platform defined by a scarp. Shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a raised circular-shaped area (dims. c. 24m NW-SE; 29m NE-SW) defined by a scarp with fosse from S-W-NW. Annotated ‘Cois Mote’ on the Cassini ed. OSi 6-inch map. Monument visible as shown on the historic OSi maps on the Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13 and Google Earth orthoimages. The tree lined relic post-1700 field boundaries at SE-E-NE visible on aerial images may represent an external bank.
