The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture 20m S of the townland boundary with Tobernea Milddle. Tobernea holy well (LI047-089----) 55m to NNW. Earthwork associated with site of Tobernea Castle (LI074-073002-) located in the centre of the earthwork. Depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a raised roughly circular-shaped platform (diam. c. 29m) defined by a scarp with fosse from SE-S-SW. Levelled earthwork is visible as a roughly circular-shaped cropmark defined by a fosse on Google Earth orthoimages. Earthwork may be the remains of an earthen bawn of Tobernea Castle.
