The National Monuments Service's description

The precise location of a medieval watermill within the townland of Gormanstown has not been identified. The mill may have been located along a strechc of the Morningstar River in the vicinity of Gormanstown Castle (LI040-066003-). The 1654-56 Civil Survey of Limerick recorded that Edmond Ffox of Bulgaden possessed in the townlands of Adamstown and Gormanstown, 'two decayed Castles [LI040-167-/066003-] 12 Cabbins & a Mill Seat upon it' (Simington 1938, 102).
