The National Monuments Service's description

In reclaimed pasture. Not marked on the OSi historic maps. Identified as a rectangular earthwork on Bórd Gáis Éireann Curraleigh West-Limerick gas pipeline aerial photographs (BGE 1/5000, 2567) taken 03/11/1984. Linear cropmarks running roughly E-W visible on Digital Globe orthoimage which may represent drainage channels associated with land reclamation with Knocktoran House. Earthwork visible as rectangular shaped cropmark (dims. c. 75m N-S; 20m E-W) intersected at S by a linear cropmark running roughly E-W, on Google Earth orthoimage dated 19/04/2019.
