The National Monuments Service's description
In reclaimed pasture 20m E of a watercourse. Depicted on the OSi 25-inch map as a raised circular-shaped platform (diam. c. 22m) defined by a scarp with fosse. Westropp (1917-19, 175) listed this earthwork as site 4 and described the monument as follows; ‘The mote near the Elton road is 12 feet to 14 feet (3.6- 4.2m) high; it has a dry fosse 15 feet (4.6m) wide, and a sort of ledge, such as one finds in bell barrows, to the east round the foot of the mound. The flat summit is from 64 to 66 feet (19.5m-20m) across, the base about 90 feet (27.4m). Many hawthorns grow on its side. There is no outer ring’. Outline of heavily overgrown monument visible on Google Earth orthoimage dated 19/09/2019 where it is intersected at S by field boundary running E-W.
