The National Monuments Service's description
In reclaimed pasture, immediately N of townland boundary with Ballynamona, within a field system (LI040-061001-), N of barrow complex (LI040-061002-/061009-). Depicted on the Cassini ed. OSi 6-inch map as a small circular platform (diam. c. 15m) defined by a scarp. Monument described by O'Kelly (1944, 52) as a ring-barrow; ‘This structure is part of the above complex but is separated from the other monuments by the townland boundary. It is a very low mound surrounded by a slight fosse outside which there is a definite bank, and outside that another fosse. The max. height of the bank is 1’ 6” [0.48m] and the overall diameter is 60’ [18.2m]. The structure is somewhat larger than the usual barrow of this type in the barony. It is possible that it is a small fort but the continuous fosse seems to indicate otherwise”. Monument visible as a circular-shaped area defined by overgrown fosse on OSi orthophoto taken between 2005-12 and on Google Earth orthoimages dated 24/09/2018 and 14/09/2019.
See attached Google Earth orthoimages.
