The National Monuments Service's description
In reclaimed pasture, immediately N of the Camogue River and W of a stream flowing into the river. Depicted on the Cassini ed. OSi 6-inch map as an oval-shaped platform defined by a scarp. Described by O’Kelly (1944, 32) as a ‘Type A Earthwork’ consisting of; ‘A circular platform surrounded by a fosse. Outside the latter are traces of a bank. It is situated on the bank of a large drainage trench, in the making of which the E half of the platform was entirely destroyed. The approx. overall diameter is 121’ [36.8m], and the height about 3’ [0.9m]. Outside the structure on the N. side is what appears to be a very low tumulus [LI040-299----]. It has no fosse and is 3’ high [0.9m] and 18’ [5.4m] in diameter’. Monument visible as circular area truncated at E by a drainage channel running NW-SE with an external fosse from SE-S-W-N on OSi orthophotograph taken between 2005-12. Immediately N the tumulus or low mound on Digital Globe orthoimage taken 2011-13.
