The National Monuments Service's description

In reclaimed pasture 175m N of the townland boundary with Ballyania. Barrow (LI039-088----) lies 75m to W. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Identified by Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 23; AP 5/2111) as an enclosure. Visible as a sub-circular-shaped area on aerial photograph (ASIAP (346) 7) taken 05/01/2003. Outline of monument is visible as a roughly circular-shaped cropmark (diam. c. 25m), intersected at S by field drain running E-W, on OSi orthophoto taken between 2005-12. Incomplete cropmark visible on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13, where it looks more like a natural feature rather than an archaeological monument. Visible as cropmark on Google Earth orthoimage dated 14/09/2020 where it is surrounded by similar cropmarks and drainage ditches. Irregular-shape of earthwork visible on Google Earth orthoimage taken 16/03/2106 casts doubt on its antiquity. May be the remains of a paleochannel or drainage ditch rather than an archaeological earthwork.
