The National Monuments Service's description
Identified during archaeological testing associated with the construction of a single dwelling houses located c. 35m S of megalithic structure (LI032-054----) and 80m SW of standing stone (LI032-061----). Testing undertaken by Frank Coyne under licence no. 04E0296 (Coyne 2004) involved the excavation of seven trenches, all measuring 20m in length by 1.5m wide and described as follows ‘Several features of possible archaeological importance were noted in Trenches 1, 6 and 7. The full extent and nature of these features was not established as this was a testing investigation, but it is possible that the patches of burnt material identified may have been associated with settlement or funerary activity in the area (Coyne 2004, 20). The features recorded included a number of pit features as well as a series of linear features (www.excavations.ie Entry No. 1026)
