The National Monuments Service's description

At the S edge of boggy heath, liable to floods, abutting a townland boundary with Ballinscoola (Cahercorney) to WNW. A barrow (LI032-258----) lies 95m to SSE. Not depicted on the 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map. Shown on the 1897 ed. OS 25-inch map as a subrectangular-shaped area (63m WNW-ESE; 62m NNE-SSW) divided into three fields, with a rectangular-shaped field (53m WNW-ESE; 43m NNE-SSW) occupying most of the SSW half and a farmstead in the SE corner. Monument identified by the Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 184.01 & 02: AP 4/3608) as a large rectangular-shaped cropmark with a semicircular-shaped cropmark occupying the SSW half. Possible enclosure is visible as a rectangular-shaped tree-lined area (80m NNE-SSW; 76m WNW-ESE) divided into three main fields, as seen on OSi orthoimage taken 2005-2012, on Digital Globe orthoimage taken 2011-2013 and on Google Earth orthoimage taken 25/03/2017. This may suggest that this is a small, post-1700 field system associated with an abandoned farmstead, in the SE corner. The semicircular-shaped cropmark identified by the Bruff aerial photographic survey is not visible on any modern orthoimages.
