The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on the SE side of Killalough Hill 280m NE of the Red Bog and 510m SE of Lough Gur. A ringfort (LI032-028----) lies 375m to ESE; a pair of standing stones (LI032-032/ 034----) are 235m ro NW and a cairn (LI032-040002-) is located 150m to NE.
The standing stone (LI032-040001-) is not depicted on the historic OSi maps. It is not visible on OSi orthoimage taken 2005-12 but is visible on Digital Globe orthoimage taken 2011-2013. The standing stone was inspected by the ASI in 2007 and described as a very weathered upright deeply fractured limestone (dims. H 1.2m; L 0.95m; T 0.3m) covered in white and yellow lichen. S-side tends downslope and stone is aligned with its long-axis c. ENE-WSW. The surrounding ground is heavily worn by cattle and the base is enclosed by clumps of grass. The location of the site is visible on Google Earth orthoimages taken 16/03/2016; 28/06/2018 and 20/09/2020.
