The National Monuments Service's description
The precise location of a medieval mill within the townland of Camas has not been identified. The 1654-56 Civil Survey of Limerick recorded that Thomas Browne, Patrick Lysasght and Ellen Growne of Camas, Irish Papists, were the owners of Camas which contained 'tenn Cabbins & a Mill seate upon it' (Simington 1938, 103).
