The National Monuments Service's description

Large enclosure described by O'Kelly (1942-3, 233) as following; 'This is a large trapezium shaped enclosure consisting of an outer bank, inside which is a fosse. Inside this is a raised open space on the edge of which is another bank. The interior is divided into three areas, two small spaces and one large, by banks which are now only barely perceptible. The entrance is on the middle of the west side. It consists of a gap 15' [4.5m] wide in the inner bank and a similar one in the outer. A sloping way leads from the inside across the fosse. The main banks are of earth and gravel but some stone has been used in the internal dividing walls. The overall maximum dimensions are : north-south 420' [128m] and east-west 300' [91m]'.
