The National Monuments Service's description

Monument described by O'Kelly (1942-3, 235) as following; 'This consists of a platform on the edge of which there seems to be a bank. It is circular except for a projecting nose on the cast side. The surface of the nose is lower than the edge of the platform. It is not possible to say what the purpose of this was. The monument is surrounded by a fosse. The east-west diameter (including the nose) is 106' [32m] and the north-south diameter is 84' [25.6m]. The large field in which this is situate seems to be divided up by ancient fences. Situate in good low-land. The entrance is not recognisable'.
