The National Monuments Service's description

On a steep, W-facing slope, in pasture, 155m W of a townland boundary with Dollas. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Identified as a feature (BGE 3/67/7) during topsoil-stripping on the Bord Gáis Éireann Pipeline to the West (Grogan et. al. 2007). Excavated by Kate Taylor under Licence No. 02E0637 and described as an oval-shaped spread (L 1.07m; Wth 0.64m; D 0.07m) with an irregular, shallow profile. The spread material was a blackish brown silty clay with a moderate amount of charcoal and occasional small stones. No artefacts were recovered, nor any material suitable for obtaining a radiocarbon determination’ (Taylor 2004, 317-8). Monument has been fully excavated and is not visible on OSi aerial orthoimage taken 2005-2012, on Digital Globe orthophoto taken 2011-2013 or on Google Earth orthoimage taken 28/06/2018.
