The National Monuments Service's description

Westropp (1906-7, 215) lists references to Castle of Dromard dating from 1583 to 1655. Site probably on or close to house named on 1841 OS 6-inch map as Mount Browne. This described by McCullough (1998) as 'prominently placed 5-bay, 3-storey house with half-hexagon bow of full height, single-storey bows on return walls, round-headed door case, yellow rendered, hipped roof, circa 1770'.
