The National Monuments Service's description

On gentle NW-facing slope, in pasture with stream which formed parish and townland boundary with Ballyvalode (part of Doon Parish) and Ballyvalode (Oola Parish) on the 1840 OS map to the NW. Annotated ‘Killeen Fort’ and depicted on the 1897 ed. OS 25-inch map as a penannular-shaped earthwork which is open to SW, the townland and parish boundary has been moved to the W on this map. Surveyed by the ASI in 2008 and described as a suboval-shaped area (19m NE-SW; 16.5m NW-SE) defined by a much degraded bank (Wth 4.35m; int. H 0.15m; ext. H 0.35m) visible from NNE-E-S-SW, elsewhere reduced to a scarp (H 0.5m) with external fosse (Wth 3.3m; base Wth 0.7m; D 0.15m) only visible from N-NNE with possible entrance (overall Wth 4m; base Wth 0.7m) at ESE. Monument is visible as a suboval-shaped earthwork on Digital Globe orthophotos taken 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimages taken 18/11/2018.

See attached sketch plan and cross-sections surveyed and drawn by the ASI.
