The National Monuments Service's description
In wet unimproved pasture, 170m SE of Glenatrahaun Stream. A ring-barrow (LI024-214----) lies 50m to S. Depicted on the 1897 ed. OS 25-inch map as a roughly circular-shaped earthwork. Surveyed by the ASI in 2008 and described as a circular-shaped area (diam. 16m) defined by a scarp (H 0.75m), with fosse (Wth 4.55m; base Wth 2m; D 0.65m) visible from SE-S-W-N-NNE and an outer bank (Wth 3m; int. H 0.65m; ext. H 0.25m) is evident from SE-S-W-N-NNE. A raised oval shape area (3m N-S; 5.5m E-W) defined by scarp (Wth 1.3m; H 0.5m) is visible in S quadrant of the interior and could be the remains of a small ring-ditch. A field boundary lies to the immediate W of the monument. Ring-barrow is visible as a roughly circular-shaped earthwork on ASI aerial photograph (ASIAP 132, 33, 34 taken 23/058/2000 and 05/01/2003). Well preserved monument visible on Digital Globe orthophotos taken 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimages taken 28/06/2018.
See attached sketch plan and cross-sections surveyed and drawn by the ASI.
