The National Monuments Service's description
The precise location of a medieval mill in the townland of Ballynagarde has not been identified. The 1654-56 Civil Survey of Limerick recorded that Theobald Borke of Ballinagard, an Irish Papist, was the owner of Ballinagarde which contained 'a Castle (LI022-051001-) Bawen (LI022-051005-), two stone housses and a Mill' (Simington 1938, 82).
