The National Monuments Service's description
On a slight E-facing slope, in gently undulating pasture, with moderate views from N-E-S, 90m NW of the townland boundary with Fanningstown. Enclosure (LI022-031----) 65m to NE. Monument is not depicted on OSi historic maps. Identified as an oval-shaped cropmark on Bruff Survey aerial photographs (Bruff 107: AP4/3702). Monument surveyed in 2000 by the ASI and described as a raised circular-shaped area (diam. 18m) defined by a scarp (Wth 4m; H 0.2m) with external fosse (overall Wth 8.9m; D 0.2m). The scarp defines the site on all sides and the fosse is visible from NW-N-E-S-SW, although is infilled from SW-W-NW. The interior is gently undulating, is dry and free of overgrowth. Monument is visible as a distinct oval-shaped cropmark on Digital Globe orthophotos taken 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimages taken 28/06/2018.
