The National Monuments Service's description
On Limerick racecourse track on a slight NW-facing slope. Fulacht fia (LI022-226----) lies 220m to W and enclosure (LI022-185----) 200m to SE. Not depicted on the 1840 0S 6-inch map or the 1897 25-inch OS map. Identified as Site 22 by Celie O’Rahilly, archaeologist, Limerick Corporation as part of an archaeological assessment for the development of a racecourse at Greenmount, Co. Limerick. The monument was described as following; ‘a low bank defining a figure-of-eight shape, orientated south-west/north-east. The central area measuring 22m long by 12m wide is at a slightly lower area than the surrounding field, which slopes gently eastwards. Possible double ring-barrow’ (O‘Rahilly 1995). Visited by the ASI in 2000 and described as no surface remains visible. Not visible on Google Earth orthoimage taken 19/11/2019.
