The National Monuments Service's description

Site of holy well dedicated to St. John the Baptist. According to O'Kelly (1943, 226) a water pump had been erected over the well and all devotion had ceased. Described in 1955 as following; 'This well has disappeared; its spring, apparently, now supplies a pump. No surviving tradition' (Ó Danachair 1955, 216).
