The National Monuments Service's description

In reclaimed pasture on a slight S-facing slope with moderate views in all directions. Enclosure (LI022-071----) 40m to NE, second enclosure (LI022-072----) 50m to E. Earthwork identified from OSi 1:5000 aerial photograph take for Bord Gais dated 03/11/1984 (BGE 3226). Surveyed by ASI in 2000 and described as a raised horseshoe shaped area (24m N-S; 40m E-W) defined by a scarped edge (H 1.4m) with an external fosse (H 0.3m; base Wth 2m). Relict field drains at NE and SE are of similar design to fosse. The interior is raised at centre. The enclosing fosse visible on Google Earth orthoimage taken 14/02/2020 is similar in morphology to surrounding drainage channels which suggests contemporaneity. Possible earthwork associated with post-1700 land reclamation or could be the remains of a post-1700 landscape feature.
