The National Monuments Service's description
On a slight W-facing slope, in undulating pasture, with restricted views in all directions. Ring-barrows (LI022-149/150----) 135m to S, ring-barrow (LI022-148----) 115m to SW, ring-barrow (LI022-151----) 160m to ESE and enclosure (LI022-008----) lies 175m to NE. All of these monument are within a 200m radius of the enclosure. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map as a large circular-shaped earthwork with a small-subrectangular-shaped tree-planted annex adjoining to SW. Shown on the revised 1897 ed. OS 25-inch map as a subrectangular-shaped earthwork with a subrectangular-shaped annex adjoining to SW. Monument surveyed by the ASI in 2000 and described as a slightly raised roughly rectangular-shaped area (32m E-W; 28m N-S) defined by a scarp (Wth 1.85m; H 0.55m) with a possible external fosse. A slight ramp on the scarp at S appears to represent the entrance. A field bank runs along the N, E and S sides of the monument, c. 4m out from the base of the scarp and may obscure the outer line of the fosse. Interior is level and clear of overgrowth. Monument is visible as a roughly rectangular-shaped tree-lined earthwork with a rectangular-shaped tree-lined annex adjoining to SW on Digital Globe orthophotos taken 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimage taken 28/06/2018.
See attached sketch plan surveyed by the ASI and Google Earth orthoimage.
