The National Monuments Service's description

In level pasture on a slight W-facing slope, with good views to the SW and NW. Located 160m W of the townland boundary with Fanningstown, 385m SSE of an enclosure (LI021-039----) and 400m W of Fanningstown Castle (LI021-047----). The site is depicted as a circular enclosure on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map. Shown as a partially levelled monument consisting of a U-shaped area (approx. dims. 34m N-S; 37m E-W) transected at N by a field boundary running E-W on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map. Monument appears to have been partially levelled between these map dates when the N field boundary was constructed. Inspected by the ASI in 2000, and described as a raised roughly circular shaped area (int. dims. 26m N-S; 25m E-W) defined by a shallow fosse (Wth 6.2m; D 0.2m) visible from E-S-W and not visible on the N side where the later field boundary has cut across the N quadrant of the enclosure. Outline of enclosure visible on Google earth orthophotos taken 28/06/2018 and 14/02/2020.
