The National Monuments Service's description
In unploughed ground within a tillage field, 300m SW of a series of archaeological excavations (LI021-182----) at Adare Villas. Depicted as a circular fort on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map. On the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map and later OSi maps the ringfort is depicted as an embanked enclosure. Inspected by ASI in 2000 and described as a slightly raised circular-shaped area (int. diam. 30m) defined by an earthen scarped edge (H 0.05m) with entrance at S (Wth 4m). The interior undulates and slopes slightly to N and was clear of undergrowth. The ringfort is now overgrown with scrub woodland as visible on Google earth orthophoto taken 28/06/2018.
See attached sketch plan surveyed and drawn by the ASI and Google Earth orthoimages
